Togetherness: Relationships for Mental Health
30th Anniversary celebration week – 2nd-8th November 2026
Togetherness turns 30 this year! Join us to celebrate the impact of the Solihull Approach model across communities for this big milestone birthday. A timely reminder of how relationships protect mental health.

Let’s celebrate efforts to raise emotional health in your area
In a world that is rapidly changing, how can we look after our mental health and shape the wellbeing of the next generation?
The Solihull Approach model has been championed across sectors for the past 30 years; supporting children, their families, frontline workers and whole communities to thrive. The model supports an understanding of relationships and the critical role they play in preventative mental health.
During the week, 2nd-8th November 2026, celebrate 30 years of the model and its programmes that transform wellbeing:
– Host a tea and talk
– Organise a welly walk
– Set up Togetherness drop-ins for staff
– Run activity sessions for young emotions detectives
Celebrate with us this week and take the opportunity to connect with your local community, combat loneliness and encourage a better understanding of preventative mental health strategies through Togetherness events.

Theme: Relationships for Mental Health
We’ve chosen Relationships for Mental Health as our theme to celebrate the impact of the Solihull Approach model, 30 years on.
We know that relationships shape who we are; they shape how our brains develop from as early as pregnancy and throughout our lives. The Solihull Approach model has a long history of transforming lives by strengthening relationships and emotional wellbeing. It integrates key psychological and psychoanalytic theories — containment, reciprocity and behaviour — into a simple yet powerful model that supports emotional development and relational health.
Why get involved?

Promote relationships
Parent-child relationships are proven among the biggest protective factors against mental illness.
Help us raise awareness and support more parents to learn about emotional health in our fast-changing world.

Combat loneliness
Almost one in four adults say they feel lonely often, always or some of the time, according to the latest data from ONS.
Learning with Togetherness helps people to think about connections and build confidence in relationships.

Staff wellbeing
We can’t pour from an empty cup. Check in with staff and share the values of Togetherness.
Professional development or just space to think.
