Independently reviewed, Togetherness groups support parents to learn about emotional health and develop confidence in parenting for a positive impact on behaviour, communication and closeness.

Ready-to-deliver groups and classes
Antenatal | Understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby’
For anyone expecting a baby: we welcome all parents and carers including mums, dads, partners, grandparents, and birth partners.
- Provide expert guidance on preparing for labour and birth as developed by midwives
- Introduce ideas about emotional health for parents and baby
- Build confidence about birth and parenting
- Think about the Solihull Approach model and theories for supporting connected, attuned relationships
- Create peer connections and supportive relationships for new parents

Postnatal | Understanding your baby
For any and all parents of babies between 0-6 months
- Introduce infant mental health and early brain development
- Consider baby communication and reciprocity in early connections
- Build confidence for comforting and responsive parenting
- Share ideas about feeding, sleeping, and soothing
- Think about the Solihull Approach model and theories for supporting connected, attuned relationships
- Create peer connections and supportive relationships for new parents

Postnatal Plus
For parents with additional challenges, relationship difficulties or postnatal depression
- Provide space for understanding emotional wellbeing and support
- Introduce ideas about infant mental health and early brain development
- Consider baby communication and reciprocity in early connections
- Build confidence for comforting and responsive parenting
- Share ideas about feeding, sleeping, and soothing
- Reflect on trauma and ways to process and recover from trauma

Understanding your child from toddler to teenager
For any and all parents of children aged 6 months to 19 years.
- Introduce childhood brain development and emotional health
- Reflect on parenting and relationships
- Share ideas about common parent challenges and approaches
- Think about the Solihull Approach model and theories for supporting connected, attuned relationships
Free addendums are available to customise this group’s delivery for adoptive parents, parents of children with a learning difficulty, parents of children with disabilities and parents of autistic children.


A randomised control trial (RCT) on the Understanding your child programme in 2019 confirmed significant benefits to both children and parents and led to the inclusion in rated programmes by the Early Intervention Foundation, now Foundations.
By training to deliver our groups, you ensure the content evidence-based, research informed and meets NHS and international health guidance, while tailoring to your team’s specific context, challenges, and cases — making it more relevant and immediately applicable for attendees.

Train to deliver out Togetherness parent groups
A short follow up training prepares practitioners to deliver groups in their local areas. The comprehensive training manual, delivery resource pack and ongoing support from the Togetherness team, you’ll be equipped to deliver our groups with confidence and make a real difference for families.
