Online antenatal courses

Our Understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby pathway has reached more than 90,000 parents so far, and been shown to support parents in their journey. Evidence-based, research-informed teaching and resources prepare parents for labour, birth and early parenting, building their confidence and strengthening the emotional wellbeing of both parent and baby, for life.

“We know the common themes that parents are grappling with all of the time, and we know they are stressful, but we’re giving parents a wraparound to be able to deal with them. It’s how you manage it, whether you can, and whether you know who else can help you if you can’t manage it.”

Mary Rheeston, Health Visitor and our Togetherness Development Manager

What impact does this make?

Encouragingly, parents enjoyed the pathway and were willing to recommend the course to other people. Too often health messages are viewed as necessary rather than enjoyable to engage with, so these results are reassuringly positive, and promising for future and continued engagement. Whilst we can’t assert that these changes in closeness, health choices and confidence will reduce the risk of mental health issues postnatally, they are firm building blocks for future emotional health and wellbeing.

“This programme helps to boost your confidence and help you learn new skills as a mom you never knew before.”
